How every Link Fable placement is earned, vetted and guaranteed.
This is the full operating policy behind every campaign — the same document our editors and outreach team work from. No marketing gloss, no hidden footnotes. If a placement doesn't meet these rules, it doesn't ship.
Every publisher, re-vetted every 30 days.
Most agencies vet a domain once — at onboarding — and never look at it again. A site can lose 60% of its traffic, sell to a link farmer, or quietly deindex, and you'd still be paying to place on it.
We run a rolling 30-day re-vet on every publisher in the network. Sites that fail are frozen or removed before your brief ever touches them.
- 01Traffic audit
Ahrefs + GSC snapshot compared to the previous 30-day baseline. Drops over 40% flag for review.
- 02Referring-domain quality
Growth curve, sudden inflation, and the ratio of quality vs. spammy inbound links.
- 03Indexation health
site: query + GSC coverage — a publisher losing pages is a publisher about to drop rankings.
- 04Outbound link footprint
New outbound links per month, ratio of sponsored/nofollow, footprint of link-selling behaviour.
- 05Editorial cadence
Publishing frequency, author bylines, and whether the last 20 posts read as human editorial or AI bulk.
- 06Topical drift
Whether the domain still covers what it claimed to on onboarding, or has pivoted into a link-farm niche.
Written in the contract.
Six promises baked into every campaign. No footnotes, no fine-print exceptions — the same terms whether you're a solo founder or a Series-B SaaS.
Editorial-only network
Every placement lives on a real publication with organic traffic. No PBNs, no link farms, no auto-generated blogs — audited before we quote.
180-day link replacement
If a placement drops within six months of going live, we replace it on an equivalent site at no additional cost.
Approve before we buy
You see the shortlist — domain, DR, traffic, niche, price — and approve every site before a single outreach email goes out.
No PBNs. Ever.
Written into the SOW. If you can prove a placement violates the policy, we refund the placement and the campaign in full.
Fixed reporting cadence
Weekly progress email during the sprint, final report within seven days of the last placement. Late report = the sprint's on us.
Full disclosure, always
Real domain names, real live URLs, real anchor text, real dates. No blurred screenshots, no aggregate-only metrics.
Standard terms · included in every SOW · no negotiation required
How we measure a placement.
Every campaign report ships with the same six metrics per link, pulled from Ahrefs, Google Search Console and GA4 — never from proprietary dashboards. No vanity counters, no "traffic estimates" that don't survive an audit.
- Domain Rating (DR)
- Authority of the referring domain on a 0–100 log scale. We report the DR at the moment your link goes live, not a marketing-brochure high.
- Organic traffic to page
- Monthly organic sessions the specific placement URL receives — not the whole domain. This is what a link is actually worth in referral and equity terms.
- Topical relevance
- Semantic and audience fit between the placement page and your target URL. Scored on a 1–5 scale by an editor before outreach begins.
- Anchor & follow status
- Exact anchor text, dofollow / nofollow / sponsored attribute, and surrounding context — captured live at delivery and re-checked at day 30 and 180.
- Ranking movement
- Position change on target keywords 30 and 90 days after placement, filtered to the linked URL. Isolated so you see the link's effect, not campaign noise.
- Link survival
- Automated re-check every 30 days for six months. If a link is removed or attributes change, we flag it and — where in scope — replace it at no cost.
What you receive at report
Live URL · screenshot · anchor · DR · page traffic · relevance score · publish date · 30/90/180-day re-check status. Delivered as a shared sheet, plus a PDF for stakeholders.
Every rule, written down.

Vetting
What happens during the 30-day publisher re-vetting?
Every publisher in our network is re-audited on a rolling 30-day cadence: organic traffic in Ahrefs, referring-domain quality, indexation health, outbound-link footprint, spam signals, editorial cadence and topical drift. Sites that fail are frozen from the network until they recover, or removed permanently if the drop is structural.
What actually disqualifies a site during re-vet?
Organic traffic down more than 40% quarter-over-quarter with no core-update recovery, sudden outbound-link inflation, deindexation events, ownership transfers to link-selling operators, and any evidence of AI-generated bulk publishing after prior manual editorial. We keep an internal graveyard log so the same domain doesn't re-enter under a new seller.
Timelines
How long does the whole campaign take, start to finish?
Typical turnaround is 10–21 days from signed brief to delivered report. Day 0–1 briefing, Day 2–4 shortlist for your approval, Day 5–18 outreach and go-live, Day 18–21 final report. Digital PR campaigns can run 3–6 weeks depending on story development.
What happens if a placement is delayed by an editor?
Editorial timelines occasionally slip — we build a 20% buffer into every quote. If a single placement misses the window by more than a week, we swap the domain from your approved shortlist without restarting the clock.
Revisions
How many rounds of revisions are included on drafts?
Two rounds of revisions per placement are included — one from you before we send to the editor, and one from the editor's requested changes. Additional rounds are rare but billed transparently, never absorbed silently.
Can I change anchors or target URLs mid-campaign?
Yes, until outreach has started on a specific domain. Once the pitch is out, changes may require withdrawing and re-pitching — we'll flag the tradeoff before you decide.
Replacement
What exactly does the 6-month replacement guarantee cover?
If a placed link is removed, redirected, marked nofollow, or the hosting page is unpublished within 6 months of go-live, we replace it on a domain of equivalent DR, traffic and niche at no additional cost. We monitor every placement monthly via automated crawls.
What is not covered by the guarantee?
Manual anchor changes you request after go-live, domains that lose authority due to Google core updates (we help mitigate but don't replace), and cases where your own site is deindexed or penalised for unrelated reasons.
Communication
How often will I hear from you during a campaign?
A weekly written update every Friday summarising outreach sent, replies received, drafts in progress and links live. Plus real-time updates in our shared channel (Slack, WhatsApp or email — your call) whenever a placement goes live or needs your input.
Who is my point of contact and what are the response SLAs?
You get a named campaign lead (not a shared inbox). Response time is under 6 business hours on weekdays, under 24 hours on approvals that unblock outreach. Escalation to the founder is one message away.
